With all the excitement around the World Cup coming to our city this summer, I started thinking about what my own fantasy team would look like. But, because i know nothing about soccer, i’ve decided to pull my players from the big 4: Phillies, eagles, sixers, and flyers. Below is my lineup, and some explanation for each position:

Striker/forward: TJ maxx. They already have the chemistry and the world class athleticism. What else do you need? (Soccer skills? Oh yeah… well, they’ll learn!)
Middys: Turner and couturier. The captain couturier is perfect for face-offs center field dominance. Trea’s speed and lack of personality are an ideal complimentary skill set.
Winger: Devonta. Our new #1, lets let devonta run on the outside and see what happens when he gets the fed the ball.
defensive mid: Embiid. Embiid grew up playing soccer, so I had to put him on the squad. Will his knees hold up past the group stage? Absolutely not, but he’s vital for the teams success.
Center backs: harper and smith. Nolan smith runs a 4.39 40 and is a freak of nature athletically, so he was a no-brainer. and while i’m not sure about bryce’s soccer skills, he’ll be useful if the team needs coffee made in a weird way leadership.
outside backs: Mailata and quinyon. These are pretty self-explanatory. I need mailata protecting the left side. and no one is getting by Quinyonamo Bay on the right.
Goalie: Vladar. Ok to be honest i had trouble with this one, so i went with the easy choice. After that series against pittsburgh in the playoffs, its Vlad’s job to lose.
let me know what you think!
